Both my daughters love piano after the first free lesson and want to practice all the time. My 5 year old had a blast and was engaged every minute. My 9 year old also loved it. Ms G. was wonderful at keeping them both engaged virtually and also ensuring they had fun at their own pace. We look forward to many more piano lessons.

I am so happy with my voice instructor, Julia! She is helping me to reach out of my comfort zone to fulfill a lifelong dream. Her style of teaching is so fun you forget you are learning. I can’t thank her and Kerry (Director of Client Engagement) enough for their patience and professionalism.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between online and in-person flute lessons?
Our private online flute lessons are very similar to in-person lessons, except more affordable and more convenient. In-person flute lessons require you to visit the lesson studio, while online lessons can be set up easily with just a few digital equipment from the comfort of your home. Besides, online flute lessons offer more flexible scheduling options than in-person lessons, which many learners find helpful for being able to enjoy learning the flute over a longer period of time.
The average price for a half-hour flute lesson is $35, while Lesson With You charges only $30. Live online flute lessons using Zoom, Skype or Google Meet charge between $20-30 for a half hour lesson. Local private lessons range from $35-45 for a half hour lesson, while in-person group lessons can cost $20 per student.
Flute lessons cost can vary widely depending on the teacher’s education, performing level and expertise, the location, years of teaching flute and lesson length. In-person lessons typically charge more than online lessons, and the cost of individual or group flute lessons start as low as $30 per hour.
How old should children be before starting flute lessons?
We welcome students age 5 and up. For students under 13, we suggest parents be present during lessons for successful learning outcomes. For children who are young to read music right away, we encourage our teachers to provide fun, easy and musical instruction that includes rhythm games, ear training, and even improvisation to help develop your child’s musical abilities.
If you’re unsure about which brand or type of flute to buy for your child, please feel free to contact our support line! We’re available to help you in finding the best flute type and lesson materials for your child’s needs.
How do online flute lessons work for beginners?
First, it’s important to let your flute instructor know your personal goals and interests. What style are you looking for – Classical or Pop? Do you enjoy the music of Taylor Swift or Bruno Mars? Are you part of your school’s band, choir, or orchestra?
Then, our flute instructor will make recommendations from finding the right flute, kits, lesson equipment and suitable lesson method book if necessary. Once you’ve scheduled regular lessons, try to practice flute on a consistent basis, beginning from warm-ups, breathing, and rhythm exercises. There’s no need to rush – what matters most for beginners is finding the right practice routine and committing to it.
What do you learn in typical flute lessons?
In flute lessons, students will learn detailed instructions on the technical and artistic aspects of music. Students will learn finger placement, posture, warm up and breathing exercises along with basic music theory and musical background for the repertoire.
During flute lessons, the instructor will give live feedback and guidance to help the student improve the techniques and understand musical elements while working on the repertoire together. At the end of every lesson, the teacher will assign specific sections of the music for the student to work on. Students are expected to practice these sections to improve their playing and resolve as many problems as possible before the next lesson.
