Careers - Lesson With You - Apply Music Teachers Roles
Job Descriptions

Lesson With You (“LWY”) is a leading US provider of live, online private music lessons. With over 50 teachers for instruments and vocals, we pride ourselves on providing excellent instruction and an outstanding student experience.

These roles are currently only open to those who have a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Music Performance or Music Education/Pedagogy.

Duties
Instructors can expect to teach both recurring lessons and trial lessons until the instructor reaches scheduling capacity. LWY offers 30, 45 and 60 minute lessons and our clientele ranges from beginner to advanced, elementary-aged students to retirees. Qualified candidates should be comfortable teaching all levels and should have a variety of industry-standard teaching materials on hand.

Administrative duties are minimal, as LWY employs staff to handle trial scheduling and billing. Instructors are required to submit weekly lesson summary for payroll verification.

Scheduling

LWY is currently experiencing a large volume of music lesson inquiries. Each new student is eligible for a complimentary thirty minute lesson — with the majority of prospects electing to continue with weekly recurring lessons. Qualified instructors with consistent availability during “peak hours” can expect to quickly develop a full schedule of students. Peak hours are defined as weekdays 4pm to 8pm in any of the 4 US time zones (Eastern, Central, Mountain and Pacific). Instructors with other availability are welcome but may receive students more slowly.

LWY is eager to hire talented, enthusiastic and thoughtful instructors and, as such, will work to accommodate successful candidates who have additional conflicts, such as graduate work or additional part-time employment. However, we do look for consistent availability in order for students to be able to regularly attend lessons at a consistent time each week.

Requirements

Qualified candidates must have a high quality microphone, webcam, and computer. Applicants will verify these items during the interview process. Candidates should be prepared to provide a video recording that showcases their music performance level. Priority will be given to candidates who provide a professional-quality recording.

This is a contract position for which US work authorization is required. We are happy to assist with CPT/OPT applications.

Compensation
Compensation is based on education level, performance level, and teaching experience.
