Gennavieve is a second-year Master’s student studying Oboe Performance at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. She has participated in the University Philharmonic Orchestra, University Wind Ensemble, and University Concert Orchestra. Additionally, she is a recipient of the Jacobs Fellowship Scholarship and has maintained a 4.0 GPA for her first year.
Gennavieve received her undergraduate degree from Florida State University in Woodwind Performance. Additionally, she has a certificate minor in Music Entrepreneurship, and another in Classics. Always willing to go out and find new opportunities to play, Gennavieve does everything in her power to perform as much as possible. From volunteering to play for friends’ recitals to taking small church gigs. At FSU Gennavieve participated in the FSU Studio Orchestra, University Concert Band, University Wind Ensemble, and the University Philharmonia. Additionally, she was a member of the International Music Fraternity Sigma Alpha Iota. During her time she served as chapter Treasurer and Fundraising Co-Chair. She was also a woodwind consultant for the Javacya Youth Orchestra. Gennavieve takes great pride in her academic success as well as musical. She was recognized on the Dean’s List and the President’s List. Additionally, she received the Lucilla Gumm and Wiley Housewright Memorial Scholarship and various Florida State academic scholarships.
Gennavieve comes from a musical family and loves to share that music with others. She hopes to one day teach at a college level and play in a professional orchestra. The following is her mission statement: “Using my love of playing and teaching in my community, I pass on my talents and skills to the next generation of musicians through a co-created curriculum that emphasizes technique, creativity, and passion.”
