How Our Lessons Work
Lesson With You is the best platform to learn your instrument. We’re here to help you find your perfect instructor, schedule lessons and navigate your musical journey. Get started in three easy steps:
Tell us what you’re looking for – we’ll ask you a few questions to help us match you with the best available instructor.
After you’ve filled out the first form, you’ll get a second form where you can tell us about your preferred musical styles, experience level, and when you’d like to have your first complimentary 30-minute lesson.
Take a free trial lesson
Once you submit the form, you can either schedule a trial lesson yourself through the link we send you or request our client service team to schedule it for you.
Then, you will get all the details you need – the date and time of your upcoming trial, your teacher’s name, and the link to the meeting.
In this half hour free lesson, the instructor will ask about your goals, challenges, and repertoire, and may request you play a piece. We hope you enjoy the instruction and find the right teacher for your needs!
Book your recurring lesson
Once you’ve completed the trial lesson, please share your feedback and let us know how you’d like to proceed!

What technology or equipment do I need for lessons?
For online lessons, you will need a stable, high speed internet connection, a computer/ laptop/ tablet and a physical instrument (excluding singing).
Additionally, your teacher will likely recommend additional materials, such as a lesson book, which will be discussed with your instructor during the trial lesson. Using an external microphone is optional, as it can improve the audio quality of the lesson.
Cell phones do not provide an adequate visual and audio experience and should not be used for voice lessons.
Does Lesson With You offer biweekly or monthly lessons?
The vast majority of Lesson With You students will achieve their music goals with weekly lessons. In early 2022, Lesson With You completed a thorough analysis of biweekly lesson attendance data and instructor feedback on this topic. Biweekly students reported slower progress, frequently delayed practice and were more likely to miss their lesson. Results show that students make the most progress and have the best experience when students take weekly lessons.
In order to create a program that can maximize skill progression, Lesson With You only offers biweekly lessons that meet ALL the following criteria:
- New students are not eligible for biweekly lessons.
- Students must attend 4 weekly sessions prior to transitioning to biweekly lessons.
- Biweekly lessons will not be offered during peak hours (Monday – Thursday from 4-10pm Eastern Time).
- Biweekly lessons must be 45 or 60 minute sessions.
- Biweekly lessons are subject to instructor availability.
If you are interested in purchasing biweekly lessons, please contact the Lesson With You Support Desk at +1 (878) 229-1299 or [email protected].
Lesson With You does not offer once per month lessons.
