“There is an ocean of creativity within every human being.” -David Lynch
I believe that as a teacher, my goal is to cultivate my students’ love for music, art, and life. I like to constantly expose my students to new music and find things that speak to them. I use my observations of what inspires them to develop lesson plans that encourage an enthusiasm for their art form, discipline in their study, and confident freedom of expression in their performance.
Jonathan grew up in the Poconos and started playing guitar at 11 after falling in love with blues and Jazz music. Jonathan quickly realized music and the education of music was going to be his path but didn’t discover Classical Guitar until around 17. Classical Guitar immediately made an impression on him because it provided the freedom to use the guitar as a solo instrument. After being introduced to it he decided to pursue the study of the instrument at Bloomsburg University with Dr. Matthew Slotkin where he earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees, one in Guitar Performance and the other in Music Education. Along the way, he has taken part in Master Classes with notable figures in the field such as Thomas Viloteau, Anthony Lalena, the Newman & Oltman Duo, Kahlil Sarikey, and Evan Drummond.
Jonathan has been admitted to the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where he will further his studies with David Tanenbaum and earn a Master of Music degree. Jonathan has been teaching guitar to all ages and ability levels since 2018.

Frequently Asked Questions
Absolutely! Several of our teachers have degrees in pedagogy and have specifically trained in teaching children. We accept students age 5 and up, although students under 13 should have a parent in the room with them for lessons. For children who are too young to read music right away, our teachers will do rhythm games, ear training, and even improvisation in order to develop your child’s musical abilities.
Of course! We have many teachers who are great with adult students, and the scheduling flexibility that we offer is particularly helpful for many adults. In most cases, instead of using a pre-planned method book, your teacher will simply ask about your musical interests and then create a personalized plan to help you reach your goals.
They are very similar to in-person lessons, except more affordable and more convenient. You will still meet with the same teacher each lesson and interact with them in real time. You will learn technique, music theory, how to read music, and all your favorite pieces.
Lessons are offered once or more per week, and you can pause or cancel your subscription at any time.
Lessons are typically $30 per half hour, $42 for 45 minutes, and $55 per hour.
Yes, as long as the lessons are with the same teacher, for students in the same family, each full price lesson allows for a second lesson in the same week but discounted by $5. So if you’re taking half hour lessons twice a week or have two children taking half hour lessons, one lesson will be $30 (our usual rate), and another is $25, for a total of $55.
In that case, we will pair your child with one of our teachers who has experience with working with children with learning disabilities. Even if your child has difficulties, for example, with staying focused or learning to read music, there is still much to be gained from music lessons. The teacher will easily adapt and include rhythm games, improvisation, ear training, and other musical exercises that suit the level and capabilities of the student.
