For homeschoolers looking to learn how to sing, online singing lessons can be a great option. Generally, they are very similar to in-person lessons, but more affordable and convenient. With just a few pieces of digital equipment, you can set up online lessons from the comfort of your own home. Another benefit is the flexibility they offer with scheduling which many homeschool families find it helpful.
Students will need high-speed internet and lesson equipment, such as a microphone, computer or laptop, and lesson books. We use Zoom as our live lesson platform. If you have any questions or concerns about the equipment or lesson setup, please don’t hesitate to contact our client service team!
Our singing lessons are priced to fit the needs of everyone, including children and families. We offer fixed rates of $35 for a half hour lesson, $50 for 45 minutes, and $65 per hour. The best age for a child to start singing lessons is between the ages of 7 and 9 years old. At this age, children have developed fine motor and cognitive skills, and understand the concepts of “teaching,” “learning,” and “practicing.” At Lesson With You, we accept students 5 and up. For those under 13, we recommend that a parent be present during lessons for an outstanding learning experience.
When your child takes singing lessons with us, they’ll learn both the technical and artistic aspects of singing. Our voice teachers may suggest warm-up and technical exercises to help your child build vocal strength and improve their pitch accuracy. They’ll also learn how to read music and practice singing using vocal techniques. As a homeschooling parent, you can help your child build a good practice routine and ensure they’re making steady progress in singing.
Of course! Preparing for exams or competitions is a great idea for children to develop a strong work ethic and goal-oriented mindset. We welcome students who are interested in preparing for music exams or competitions. Our professional teachers have extensive experience in selecting vocal repertoire and preparing students for performances. If you are interested in this, please let our support team know when you request a trial lesson.
Unlike self-learning from software or pre-recorded videos, online singing lessons actually let you interact with live teachers. During online singing lessons, your teacher will be able to observe and hear how you sing, and provide practical guidance to help you improve. This interactive approach, involving observing, imitating, and practicing, is often the most effective way to learn singing.
