Jacob received his bachelor’s degree in Guitar Performance at The State University of New York at Buffalo, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. There he played in a variety of ensembles that spanned from Classical, Rock, to Jazz. At UB, Jacob studied Classical and Jazz Guitar with Dr. Sungmin Shin, as well as Jazz studies with George Caldwell.

Teaching Philosophy
Jacob understands that each learner comes with their own unique backgrounds and experiences that requires flexibility in lesson plans as well as musical development. The value of teacher to student relationship cannot be stressed enough. Jacob sees this as an integral part of the progress of the student and believes that this should be approached with just as much care as the music itself.
