Piano Lessons

Both my daughters love piano after the first free lesson and want to practice all the time. My 5 year old had a blast and was engaged every minute. My 9 year old also loved it. Ms G. was wonderful at keeping them both engaged virtually and also ensuring they had fun at their own pace. We look forward to many more piano lessons.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions - iLive Online Music Lessons with Top music instructors

What's the difference between online and in-person viola lessons?

Our private online viola lessons are very similar to in-person lessons in Aloha, except more affordable and more convenient. In-person viola lessons require you to visit the lesson studio, while online lessons can be set up easily with just a few digital equipment from the comfort of your home. Additionally, online viola lessons offer greater scheduling flexibility compared to in-person lessons, which many learners find helpful for being able to enjoy learning the viola over a longer period of time.

Frequently Asked Questions - iLive Online Music Lessons with Top music instructors

How old should children be before starting viola lessons?

We welcome Aloha viola students age 5 and up. For students under 13, we suggest parents be present during lessons for successful learning outcomes. For children who are too young to read music, we encourage our teachers to provide fun, easy and musical instruction that includes rhythm games, ear training, and even improvisation to help develop your child’s musical abilities.

If you’re unsure about which brand or type of viola to buy for your child,  please feel free to contact our support line! We’re available to help you in finding the best viola type, kits and lesson materials for your child’s needs.

How do online viola lessons work for beginners in Aloha?

In viola lessons, it’s important to share your personal goals and musical interests with your instructor. What style are you looking for? Is it Classical or Pop? Do you enjoy listening to music from pop hits, Christmas songs, or Disney soundtracks?

Then, our viola instructor will make recommendations from finding the right viola, kits, lesson equipment and suitable lesson method book if necessary. Once you’ve scheduled regular lessons, try to practice viola on a consistent basis, beginning from warm-ups, bowing exercises, finger movement and rhythm exercises. There’s no need to rush – what matters most for beginners is finding the right practice routine and committing to it.

Frequently Asked Questions - iLive Online Music Lessons with Top music instructors

What do you learn in typical viola lessons in Aloha?

In viola lessons, students will learn detailed instructions on the technical and artistic aspects of music. Students will learn bowing technique, intonation, rhythm exercises and posture along with some basic music theory and musical background of the repertoire.

During viola lessons, the instructor will provide live feedback to the student on how to improve the techniques and understand the musical elements. At the end of every lesson, the teacher will assign specific sections of the music for the student to practice. Students are expected to work on these sections to improve their viola playing and resolve as many problems as possible before the next lesson.
